Who doesn’t love a beach, what about Mornington Beach, Melbourne, Australia

It is a brilliant Saturday morning with the temperature forecast to reach 31 degrees today… sounds like a beach kind of day, maybe a Mornington Beach kind of day.

The drive takes us about 40 minutes.

Mornington is a seaside suburb of Melbourne and has a mix of both permanent and holiday residents and is not necessarily an economically challenged area.

Mornington has its fair share of cashed up retirees and I think there could be some money to be made in a shop selling white cotton pants. The main strip of shops has lots of cafes and restaurants, ice cream shops and its fair share of furniture shops with candles. The beach and pier is an easy 10 minute walk from the shops.

We head to the beach section, stroll along the waters edge (so romantic Alex) and look for a shady spot to sit for a while.

Alex kindly offers me his thongs to sit on when we realised we hadn’t even brought a beach towel with us.

The beach is just such a great place to relax and cool down.  Not an eventful day but nice to get to the water, even if it was just for a couple of hours.[showmyads]
