Vietnam series: Vung Tau to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), Vietnam

I will miss you Ho Chi Minh City

I have spent 4 excellent days exploring the beachside peninsula of Vung Tau, staying at the back beach of Bai Sau. Sadly it is now time to check out of the My Le Hotel.

I pay the additional hotel charges which includes a minibar charge of VND$48,000 (AUD$3.00) and laundry charge of VND$148,000 (AUD$9.00).

I have my return ticket for the hydrofoil fast ferry back to HCMC, leaving from the jetty at the southern end of the half moon beach of Bai Truoc and take the short taxi ride there in a taxi which has a properly calibrated metered taxi… hooray!

Fast forward 1.5 hours and I am delivered back to Bach Dang Wharf in HCMC. From here, I make my way back to my most favourite hotel… of course, the Mai Phai Hotel.

With only one short afternoon left of my month long trip through Vietnam I decide to head to the big markets where I spend the next several hours getting hassled by its sellers.

To the markets please Mr Taxi Driver

I follow this with a massage and finish with getting my nails done.

I enjoy one last Vietnamese meal in the bustling HCMC that I have enjoyed so much and will be very sad to leave.

I manage to remember to pause at the hotel reception and, with a sad face, pre-book a taxi for 6:00am tomorrow morning to the airport.
