Alex and I are Departing Melbourne and on the trip of a lifetime, spending 5 weeks travelling around the United States of America.
Our trip will include two weeks in fabulous New York, a weekend in Washington and five days each in Las Vegas, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Continue reading
Even as a Melbournian I loved this attraction as it gives you a different aspect of all those other Melbourne attractions you thought you knew. For the extra cost we did the Edge Experience and while it is a cool thing to do, it is probably not essential. I would suggest you go late afternoon so that you can see the city in daylight, stay a while and you can take in the night view and gain two different perspectives from the same view. How good is this. It has taken Alex and me 30 minutes to get to Seaford Beach, Melbourne by car, using the Eastern Freeway all the way and passing through a total of a mere 3 traffic lights (too easy). It is 5:00pm on a Saturday and still about 32 degrees. There is hardly anybody on the beach, the water is perfect and there is the occasional tease of a breeze.
It is a brilliant Saturday morning with the temperature forecast to reach 31 degrees today… sounds like a beach kind of day, maybe a Mornington Beach kind of day.
The drive takes us about 40 minutes.
Mornington is a seaside suburb of Melbourne and has a mix of both permanent and holiday residents and is not necessarily an economically challenged area. Continue reading
So it’s approaching Christmas and time for the annual Christmas work function (groan). Working in a fairly large office you get invited to some nice Christmas party venues and the venue this year is one I am looking forward to although its probably not necessarily the coolest Christmas party venue. The coolest venue was probably the Big Brother house at Dreamworld on the Gold Coast while I was living in Brisbane but I am getting off topic… oh yeah… Mural Hall, Melbourne ! Continue reading
My (long suffering) partner Alex did a very smart thing recently when he booked us to stay a night at the “new” Hilton Hotel at South Wharf, Melbourne. I actually initially gave him a hard time about booking a hotel at South Wharf given we were going to attend the tennis that night and the Tennis Centre is at the opposite end of the city to South Wharf. But… having now stayed at the Hilton, South Wharf, I take it all back Alex and admit that I was r…r…wrong (which is very difficult to admit)! Continue reading
