Confessions and discoveries about Trip Advisor

I have two things to confess. 

Confession number 1: 

I am not the smartest bear in the tech savy woods.  I wouldn’t go so far as to say technologically challenged, I do ok but I am being quickly upgraded in technology terms thanks to Alex.  Now, technically that’s not a “thank you” as the jury is still out on whether this is a good or bad thing so will hold off on praise for Alex for now.

Today I moved on from one world heritage site to another.  I booked myself on an 8:00am bus from Hue to Hoi An.  Approximate bus time is 3 hours to Hoi An so I take the time (not all 3 hours obviously) to text Alex:  “I am on bus nearing Hoi An (beach) and meeting others.”  Ok, it’s not exactly “War and Peace” but still a thoughtful update ….

How good is this.  It has taken Alex and me 30 minutes to get to Seaford Beach, Melbourne by car, using the Eastern Freeway all the way and passing through a total of a mere 3 traffic lights (too easy).   It is 5:00pm on a Saturday and still about 32 degrees.  There is hardly anybody on the beach, the water is perfect and there is the occasional tease of a breeze.

Vietnam series: Hue, Vietnam and its walled Citadel and Imperial City by cyclo

I am in Hue, Vietnam and it is day ten of my month long journey travelling north-south through Vietnam.  It is the first real rainy day so I take the chance to sleep in.  I am on my own today as the others (my brother, his girlfriend and their mate) wanted to move on already.  I have stayed on an extra day as I wanted to look at the walled Citadel and Imperial City so I am going it alone and am excited about the day.  But for a while longer… back to sleep.
