Tasmania (or “Tassie” as it is affectionately known) is the smallest state of Australia and is an island state, separated from mainland Australia by Bass Straight.

The former penal settlement and now historic site of Port Arthur, Tasmania is a fascinating and enjoyable place to explore. Alex and I had much fun exploring the area over the course of two days, after hiring a car in Hobart and driving ourselves to Port Arthur.

Alex and I have booked a ten day holiday to Tasmania, the most southern state of Australia with its city of Hobart just a short flight from our home state of Melbourne.
During our 10 days we will travel by car in an anti-clockwise direction from Hobart in the south, across to the west coast to Strahan, finally making our way in a north-east direction, finishing our journey in Launceston. Continue reading

I am on a weekend break with two friends at the lovely Moololaba Beach in Queensland. Mooloolaba is a popular destination because it is easily accessible, located on the Sunshine Coast, approximately 90km north of Brisbane. MBK Centre, Bangkok, Thailand
I am at the Dang Derm Hotel in Bangkok Thailand and I can’t leave this place quick enough (Dang Derm, not Bangkok Thailand) so first thing in the morning I have my bag packed and make my way down to reception.
Last night I stood at this same reception desk asking (like a real nanna) to be moved to a different room courtesy of a constant DUF DUF noise emanating from the nightclub located 5 floors below my bed (or was that under my bed?). Continue reading
