So last Wednesday night I was invited to a steakhouse with 4 girlfriends from work.
To be more specific, I was invited to the City Grill Room located at 535 Little Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
Well… let me tell you…. the meal smelt so delicious when it arrived at our table that I forgot to take a photo of it… DOH!
My 200g eye fillet steak (cooked medium) was so delicious I didn’t want to stop eating to take a photo… oh well.
By the time I was done eating there was nothing but an empty plate, barring a smudge of sauce I couldn’t manage to get, and by then my empty plate didn’t look too photogenic… not to worry.
So you will just have to resort to the good old fashioned practice of “take my word for it” when I tell you, in my humble opinion, the City Grill Room dishes up melt in your mouth steak. I can also recommend the mushroom sauce which was both plentiful and fantastic.
My side plate of char grilled vegetables including roast pumpkin, mushrooms, zucchini and capsicum was not too shabby either.
Cost per person for our main meals, a couple of sides of vegetables, wines and coffees was $60.00. Value for money from an establishment providing a comfortable setting with nice staff, good quality food and a claim of being “the steak specialists”. No kidding!
I’ll be back, if only just to see if “consistency” is also one of their talents.
Here are the photos I did manage to take, so as not to feel completely useless:
