MBK Centre, Bangkok, Thailand
I am at the Dang Derm Hotel in Bangkok Thailand and I can’t leave this place quick enough (Dang Derm, not Bangkok Thailand) so first thing in the morning I have my bag packed and make my way down to reception.
Last night I stood at this same reception desk asking (like a real nanna) to be moved to a different room courtesy of a constant DUF DUF noise emanating from the nightclub located 5 floors below my bed (or was that under my bed?). Continue reading
Tuk Tuk outside the Dang Derm Hotel
Today is 9 October and my Air Asia flight from Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to Bangkok is at a reasonable 9:45am.
My pre booked taxi arrives to collect me at 6:00am and, somehow, I have managed to be ready on time. My taxi heads off to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN). Continue reading
I will miss you Ho Chi Minh City
I have spent 4 excellent days exploring the beachside peninsula of Vung Tau, staying at the back beach of Bai Sau. Sadly it is now time to check out of the My Le Hotel.
I pay the additional hotel charges which includes a minibar charge of VND$48,000 (AUD$3.00) and laundry charge of VND$148,000 (AUD$9.00). Continue reading

Vung Tau is a low key beachside location, situated on a peninsula, 125km from Ho Chi Minh City and is a popular weekend destination for HCMC residents.
This also makes it perfect for me as a beach option for a couple of days before I look to commence my journey home to Australia.

I wake up in my mystery hotel room in Can Tho at 5:30am. Today is day 2 of my two day tour of the Mekong Delta, Vietnam. Yesterday was a very full day exploring the tributaries and canals around Ben Tre.
Today our itinerary has us heading to the floating markets and I am looking forward to the day ahead.

Today I leave Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) on a two day tour exploring the tributaries and canals of the Mekong Delta region in southwest Vietnam.
The definition of “Delta” is “alluvial tract where river at mouth breaks into several streams”, referencing the 9 tributaries of the Mekong River. Continue reading
Water Puppet Theatre Stage
I am enjoying my second day in the largest city in Vietnam. I am in bustling Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) and have decided that today will be a pamper day before heading off to the Golden Dragon Water Puppet Theatre tonight.
Yep… today I am going in search of the big three: pedicure, manicure and massage. Continue reading
