Alex and I are booked to fly to Bali today for a 7 day beach break.
It was a last minute decision and the booking was only made only 2 weeks ago.
Alex and I are staying at the Grand Balisani Suites Hotel in Seminyak and so far have spent some time visiting Kuta and enjoying our surrounds of the hotel complex.
Today we have made arrangements with a local taxi driver, Mudi to take us to Ubud.
We have arranged to pay Mudi a fixed price of AU$50 which includes the two of us and includes a round trip which is expected to take about 4 hours.
The Balinese are a gentle people and always willing to offer a smile.
Take Rita for instance, Rita is one of the hotel staff we first meet at breakfast and, when leaving breakfast on our first morning I said to Rita “Terima Kasih”. “Is that right?”
Alex and I are enjoying a beach break in Bali, Indonesia. Yesterday we enjoyed our first day in the comfort of the complex which is the Grand Balisani Suites Hotel.
Today we plan to travel into nearby Kuta where we can explore the local beach, the Bali Bombings Memorial and see what Bali shopping has to offer.
Alex and I have booked a 7 night vacation in Bali, staying at the more traditional Balinese style Grand Balisani Suites Hotel.
The Grand Balisani is a large resort in Seminyak, Bali with spacious and clean rooms, plentiful food options, beautiful gounds (including a sparkling blue pool with pool bar) and direct access to its own beach frontage.
When thinking Bali think alluring golden sandy beaches, insense laden streets, luxurious hotels, green interiors, humid days, cheap shopping, cheap food and of course traffic chaos.
Image lazy days or busy nights, sunbathing all day or surfing from dawn, whichever you choose, its all waiting to be done in Bali.
Visit places like Kuta, Legian, Seminyak and Ubud. Do things like shop without guilt, enjoy a massage or manicure, visit a temple or pay your respects at the Bali bombing memorial site. Continue reading
Today Alex and I will visit 3 top attractions in San Francisco.

Second, we will walk Lombard Street (aka the crookedest street in the world).
Last but not least, we will walk across the Golden Gate Bridge. Alex, put on your walking shoes… its time to hit the pavement. Continue reading
